Trafalgar Square


 INTRODUCTION
Building work on the south side of the square in 1960 revealed deposits from the lastinterglacial. Among the findings, dating from approximately 40,000 years ago, were the remains of cave lion, rhinoceros, straight-tusked elephant and hippopotamus.
The site of Trafalgar Square has been a significant location since the 13th century. During Edward Is reign, the area was the site of the Kings Mews, running north from the original Charing Cross, where the Strand from the City met Whitehallcoming north Westminster.From from the reign of Richard II to that of Henry VII, the mews was at the western end of the Strand. The Royal Mews name comes from the practice of keeping hawks here for moulting; MEW is an old word for this. After a fire in 1534, the mews were rebuilt as stables, and remained here until George IV moved them to Buckingham Palace.La square is usual site of political demonstrations and is the place on which the Nelson column rises.

DESCRIPTION
 The square is formed by a large central area surrounded by streets on three of the four sides, and the stairs that lead to the National Gallery, on the other. The streets that cross the square form part of the A4 road, and prior to 2003, the vehicles could circulate around the square. Underground passages located next to Charing Cross underground station allow cars to avoid pedestrians. Recent works have reduced the width of the traffic lanes and closed to the north side of the square

SANTA FE

Santa Fe is a Spanish municipality located in the west-central part of the region of the Vega de Granada, in the province of Granada, in the autonomous community of Andalusia. It borders with the municipalities of Fuente Vaqueros, Pinos Puente, Atarfe, Granada, Vegas del Genil, Las Gabias, fireplaces and Chauchina. Other nearby towns include Belizean, Bobadilla, Manchester and Lachar.

Santaferino Township is one of thirty-four entities that make up the Metropolitan Area of Granada, and comprises the towns of Santa Fe - one own judicial district headquarters, as well as capital of the sub-region of the Vega Baja de Granada-, El Jau and most of Pedro Ruiz, located between the municipal boundary of Santa Fe and Fuente Vaqueros.

QUÉNTAR

Quéntar is a Spanish municipality located in the eastern part of the region of the Vega de Granada, in the province of Granada, in the autonomous community of Andalusia. It borders with the municipalities of Dúdar, Beas de Granada, Huétor Santillán, Diezma, La Peza and Guejar Sierra.

The municipality quenteno includes cores Quentar and stump. Among its population of 992 inhabitants(INE, 2014), include fifteen nationalities living in this town.


PULIANAS

Pulianas is a town and commune belonging to the province of Granada, in the autonomous community of Andalusia, Spanish. It is located in the central part of the Vega de Granada, about 5 km from the provincial capital. It borders with the municipalities of Güevéjar, Alfacar, Jun, Granada, Maracena and dangers.

Pulianero City Council is formed by the nuclei of Pulianas, Pulianillas, La Joya and Los Olivos.

PINOS PUENTE

Pinos Puente is a Spanish municipality belonging to the province of Granada, in the autonomous community of Andalusia. It is located in the northwestern part of the region of Vega de Granada, is one of the thirty-four entities that make up the Metropolitan Area of Granada. It borders with the municipalities of Valderrubio, Illora, Moclín, Atarfe, Santa Fe, Fuente Vaqueros, Láchar, Manchester, fireplaces and Moraleda de Zafayona. Its municipal term three Genil rivers, Cubillas, Velillos and friars.

Piñero municipality includes the villages of Pinos Puente, Casanueva, Zujaira, Fuensanta, Trasmulas, Anzola, Cantarrana-Buenavista, Alitaje, Torrehueca-Torreabeca and Bucor.

Its economy is based on a major irrigation and livestock farming. As for its history has architectural traces of its Arab past, as a bridge, which the locals have given name: El Puente de La Virgen. Also has one of the longest streets in the municipalities of Vega de Granada: calle Real, where the Town Hall is located.

PINOS GENIL

Pinos Genil is a Spanish municipality located in the central part of the region of the Vega de Granada, in the province of Granada, autonomous community of Andalusia. It borders with the municipalities of Cenes de la Vega, Granada - the Albaicín district - Dudar, Güejar Sierra, Monachil.

Piñero municipality includes the nuclei of Pinos Genil and Los Pinillos. By municipal area runs the river Genil.

There was formerly a tram line that started from Granada and reached the ravine of San Juan, a place of Güejar Sierra Sierra Nevada. The tram had stops in different towns during its run, including in Pinos Genil. Today part of this journey can be done walking, passing through beautiful landscapes along the river Genil.

PELIGROS


Peligros is a Spanish municipality located in the central part of the region of the Vega de Granada, in the province of Granada, Andalusia community. It borders with the municipalities of Pulianas, Maracena, Albolote, Calicasas and Güevéjar.
